Support Us
Can I fund the preservation and release of a specific recording?
You can, and we encourage you to do so.
We have all the expertise to prepare tailor-made projects.
To correspond to our mission, such a project must meet four conditions:
- We must have access to original media (master tapes, for example).
- The recordings must not already have been preserved in their entirety or in high definition.
- The recordings must have established, even priority, artistic or heritage value.
- We must be able to obtain permission from the copyright holders for publication.
How can I support your foundation?
The United Music Foundation can pursue its mission only with the support of private and public funding.
If you wish to contribute to preserving and passing on our shared recorded music heritage, you may:
- make a donation
to the United Music Foundation.
We would be happy to acquaint you with our activities,
- support or commission a project
based on a particular artist or work, in any musical style (historical research, preservation, restoration, and release of recordings),
- make a gift of our Collector's Editions
to your clients, partners, or your company’s employees.
All profits from the sale of our releases are used to make other preservation projects possible.
Feel free to contact us for further information.
Hi-Res Audio
What is Hi-Res Audio?
Hi-Res Audio is high-definition audio files as produced by the recording or mastering studio.
In our pursuit of the highest possible quality, we have established a partnership with Qobuz to promote this format that is higher definition than audio CDs.
How can I download Hi-Res Audio versions?
Download instructions are provided in each product description in the “Hi-Res Audio” tab.
For other questions about file formats and downloading, please check the website of our partner Qobuz: www.qobuz.com.
Artistic Choices
Who are the artists whose recordings you have already preserved?
I would like the United Music Foundation to publish recordings by a specific artist.
Do not hesitate to send us your suggestions, which we will consider carefully.
To fulfil to our mission, projects must meet four conditions:
- We must have access to original media (master tapes, for example)
- The recordings must not already have been preserved in their entirety or in high definition.
- The recordings must have clear, even priority, artistic or heritage value.
- We must be able to obtain permission from the copyright holders for publication.
Will you publish Nicole Croisille’s complete works?
That would be a marvelous project which we would be more than happy to pursue. This will entirely depend on sponsors and patrons to finance this project of high artistic value.
Why don’t you release all of the recordings you preserve?
The central mission of our foundation is to preserve recorded musical heritage. We focus our efforts on that goal, since only once works have been preserved can they be restored and released.
Additionally, releasing the recordings requires large budgets and permissions that we are not always able to obtain.
What are your next preservation and publication projects?
We are constantly working on several projects in various musical styles, but we cannot discuss them before full funding has been secured.
We are regularly updating our Preserved Recordings list, which contains a list of the Artists whose recordings have been preserved by our Foundation. You can access it here: https://www.unitedmusic.ch/index.php/en/preservation/artists

Promotion
I’d like to receive a promotional copy for review.
Send us an email with a clear description of your publication.
If your request is deemed appropriate, you will quickly receive a promotional copy, based on availability.
Can the United Music Foundation purchase advertising space for its Collector's Editions ?
No. In accordance with the wishes of our founder and our donors, our profits must be allocated to pursuing our mission.
However, we are open to proposals for media/press partnerships.
Delivery
Why are there handling charges?
We add a maximum amount of CHF 3.00 to the shipping charges to help cover the costs of packaging and handling.
We collaborate with the Fondation PRO for part of our logistics management. This foundation works for the integration or re-integration of people excluded from the economy, usually for reasons of handicap, while respecting standard requirements with regard to deadlines and quality control.
For more information, see the PRO website: www.pro-geneve.ch
Why has my post office charged customs duties?
At present, no customs duties are not charged to the sale of any of our products.
If your order is shipped outside of Switzerland, it is possible that the customs authorities of your country will charge import duties based on the VAT rate in the destination country. Unfortunately, we have no control over that.
Customs policies vary widely from country to country. We advise you to contact your country's customs office for more information.
Distribution
Is there a wholesale price for retailers?
Yes. A wholesale price (PGHT – wholesale price before tax) is set for each of our products, and we are very happy to collaborate with retailers.
Each of our Collector's Editions has a GS1 barcode for automated checkout.
How do you set the price of your Collector's Editions?
We endeavor to offer exclusive Collector's Editions of the highest quality at prices that remain affordable, despite their expensive design and production costs.
This aspect of our foundation’s mission is made possible through the contributions we receive (patronage, donations, sponsorship, etc.).
Why are your Collector's Editions not available through retailers?
Don’t hesitate to contact these stores or their central buying offices that have not yet referenced our Collector's Editions.
Meanwhile, we are doing our best to find a distributor that respects our non-profit status.
Why can’t I find your Collector’s Editions on Amazon?
We would be happy to work with Amazon.
Unfortunately, nothing has been organised so far to facilitate their collaboration with sellers based in Switzerland.
As a consequence, the proposed conditions to work with their European warehouses are currently too heavy for us, both on financial and administrative levels.
Therefore, we are attentively following their evolution for the case this was to change in the future.
Can we find your Collector's Editions anywhere else than online?
Yes. We are happy to collaborate with the independent stores and mail-order companies who approach us.
Do not hesitate to contact your regular retailer if you want to order our Collector's Editions.
