Preservation of the Marie Laforêt Collection

Between July 2017 et April 2018, the United Music Foundation has preserved, in Geneva, 118 audio tapes from the personal archive of Marie Laforêt.

This exceptional heritage contains:
  • Many unreleased studio recordings:
    Marleau, El Cabrestrero, Esclave et reine, Il faut savoir pardonner (Lirica N°1), Pendulo (N°4), Luciana (Italian version), La réglisse, Avant que ne vienne demain,
  • Many unreleased alternate versions:
    including: A qui la faute, Prière pour aller au paradis, La Madeleine, Demain Moby Dick, Marie, douce Marie,
  • The stereo and mono master tapes of all her recordings distributed by CBS (1969-1970),
  • Many unreleased live recordings:
    Cambrai, (Europe 1, 07.1969), Théâtre 140, Brussels, (10.1969), Musicorama (Europe 1, 11.1969), Maison de la Culture, Amiens (Except, ORTF, 05.1971), Théâtre de la Ville, Paris, (ORTF, 12.1971),
  • Many Festival and Polydor tape copies,
  • Some recordings for TV shows:
    Top à Jacqueline Maillan (ORTF, 1973), Top à Gérard Lenorman (ORTF, 1973),
  • Many backing tracks
    including several unheard arrangements by Egberto Gismonti,
  • Some work and rehearsal tapes,
  • A radio show from Fréquence Nord
    for the promotion of her book Contes et légendes de ma vie privée (1981),
  • Many demo tapes
    namely by Armand Canfora, Nahum Heiman, Michel Jourdan, Jean-Claude Petit, Johnny Rech, Alain Souchon and Bernard Wystraëte.

All these recordings have been preserved in high resolution (24bits / 96kHz).

This large preservation work has not been financially supported.
